About

NNY912 is an educational group that focuses on restoring the American character and spirit through self-education, family building and community service.  Our goals are to educate, inform and influence ourselves, our families and our communities.  It is our belief that when the proper forms of  self, family and community are restored, a proper form of government, as originally established in the United States Constitution, will also be restored.

As Thomas Jefferson wrote: “A man who expects to remain ignorant and free, expects what never was nor will ever be.”

We believe that a Classical Liberal Arts education, which is how most of the Founding Fathers were educated, is the key to restoring our nation.  The model for this is explained in the excellent book “A Thomas Jefferson Education” by Oliver DeMille, which we recommend all members read.

912 has a double meaning:  9 principles and 12 values as compiled by national radio talk show host, Glenn Beck, and 9/12/2001, a day that saw for a brief moment, a sense of unity and that all of us were simply Americans.

The 9 Principles are:

1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
As long as you believe at least 7 of the 9 to be true, then you are welcome to join us.
The 12 Principles:
Honesty - Reverence - Hope -  Thrift -  Humility - Charity - Sincerity - Moderation - Hard Work - Courage - Personal Responsibility - Gratitude
We are non partisan and do not endorse candidates for any political office.
However, we do believe in an informed electorate and encourage everyone to participate in the political process.
