An introductory class
Mr. Chuck Ruggiero will be instructing this informative and dynamic class on our nation’s Constitution. Come ready to learn and expect to leave with a deeper working knowledge of the longest lasting constitution of modern times.
This will be an introductory class. Depending on the number of individuals interested, a deeper study may be offered at a later date.
About Chuck Ruggiero
Mr. Ruggiero first started teaching classes on the US Constitution in the year 2000. In addition to Constitutional Law and other constitutional studies, he has taught federal criminal law, state criminal law, federal ethics law, evidence law, criminal procedure law, terrorism studies including response to weapons of mass destruction, conservation law, vehicle and traffic law, labor law, military law, sexual harassment and bias crimes. Mr. Ruggiero has also taught a large variety of military subjects including infantry, combat engineering and small arms maintenance and repair. He is certified to instruct by the US Air Force, the US Army, the Department of the Army, the United States Office of Personnel Management, and New York State.
In the 1990′s, Mr. Ruggiero was a full-time instructor and specialized in military ordnance. He is the author of the US Army’s “Armorer’s Handbook”, a 218 page “how-to” book on maintaining and using military weapons; available to soldiers worldwide on the internet. He was the training officer and police academy director at Fort Drum for 3 & 1/2 years, and served as a member of the Law Enforcement Training Director’s Association of New York State. Mr. Ruggiero taught every class in the Basic Course for Police, including everything from physical techniques to legal studies. He has 28 years of federal civil service experience, and retired from his last position as Chief of Police at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, in 2009.
Mr. Ruggiero attended Holy Innocents School and Nazareth High School in Brooklyn, NY, completed the two-year Associate’s Degree program in Criminal Justice with the Community College of the Air Force, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community and Human Services with a concentration in Criminal Justice, from SUNY Empire State College. He is currently employed by the Village of Cape Vincent Police Department as a patrol officer, and the State University of New York as a terrorism studies instructor at Jefferson Community College.
